Medley Learning is an AI-backed scaffolding platform that helps multilingual learners (MLs/ELLs) access the same grade-level instructional materials as their native English-speaking peers. Delivered as a browser extension on student devices, Medley automatically adds research-backed, customized scaffolds to any digital content a teacher assigns — assigned text, student research, teacher-generated assignments, web pages — and fades those supports as students grow in English proficiency. Scaffolds align to WIDA, ELPA21, TELPAS, ELPAC or any state/district English proficiency framework, and teachers can also set levels manually per student. Core tools include On-Demand Text Supports (click any word for student-friendly definitions, visuals, audio, and contextual examples), Text Adjusters (auto-chunking with headers, in-context definitions, re-leveling, side-by-side translation, read-aloud), Writing/Response Supports (sentence frames and word banks that fade to sentence stems as proficiency grows), Teacher Controls for per-student support levels and site allow/block lists, and tools to scaffold print content (textbooks and printed assignments) into scaffolded versions.
