About MathDash
MathDash is an online math education platform built for students who want to excel at maths competitions — AMC, AIME, USAJMO, and beyond. The platform pairs every student with a dedicated mentor: a real person (often an MIT graduate, AIME qualifier, or Math Olympiad Summer Program attendee) who monitors progress, provides weekly feedback on strengths and weaknesses, and keeps students accountable. The curriculum is structured and progressive, with curated hints for every problem so students never feel stuck without guidance. Progress is tracked in real time — accuracy rates, problems solved, rating changes, and streaks — and parent dashboards provide visibility into how each student is developing week to week. Students have qualified for AIME and JMO through MathDash, and parents describe the platform as transforming their children's excitement towards mathematics. Each student starts by sharing their current level and goals, gets matched with a mentor who fits their style, and then begins structured weekly sessions with homework, mock exams, and real feedback. Backed by Y Combinator (Winter 2024) and founded by Daniel Sun, a math competition champion who qualified for the Math Olympiad Summer Program (MOSP) in high school, which opened doors to MIT and Jane Street.
