About Excellence Learning
Excellence Learning is an AI-powered after-school maths and science programme designed to replace or supplement private tutoring and long-term study programmes such as Kumon. Because every student is unique, Excellence adapts its high-quality courses and exercises to each learner's knowledge level and learning style in a highly granular way — covering both ambitious students looking to excel and those who are struggling and need extra support. Students receive detailed explanations through text, voice, and graphics; can craft personalised study plans; revise and memorise key material; and access human mentorship when needed. An optional structured daily programme adds regular courses, worksheet feedback, and more in a "super Kumon" model. Excellence also sells its AI tutoring engine and exercise databases directly to schools in a B2B and B2B2C model, and already works with some of France's most prestigious institutions including Ecole Polytechnique and Collège Stanislas. The platform is available on web and iPad and is backed by Y Combinator (Winter 2025). It was built by a team of ex-quants, mathematicians, and physics champions led by founder Sovann Linden, who studied at Oxford from age 15, holds a Mathematics Masters from Oxford and a Masters of Engineering from Stanford, and has over ten years of tutoring experience.
