About Edexia
Edexia is an AI teacher assistant built specifically for grading essays. Unlike generic AI tools, Edexia learns directly from the teacher — it visually breaks down its understanding of a rubric and updates that understanding each time the teacher corrects it, so it grades the way the teacher would. This makes it applicable to any curriculum, year level, subject, or essay format without requiring a one-size-fits-all approach. Currently leading with VCE (Victorian Certificate of Education) English, Edexia has been trained by more than 10 past VCAA assessors to deliver expert-level feedback on student essays. Teachers and students can paste an essay directly into the platform with no account required and receive detailed expert feedback in around a minute. The platform is trusted by a growing number of Australian secondary schools including St Bernard's College, Kolbe Catholic College, Plenty Valley Christian College, St Peter's College, Homestead Senior Secondary College, and Marist College Bendigo. Edexia's mission is to integrate AI safely and effectively into education — not to replace teachers, but to give them back the time and resources to focus on developing their students. Backed by Y Combinator (Winter 2025) and founded by Daniel Gibbon, a second-time technical founder who built a previous EdTech company to $200k ARR at age 18 and is a TEDx speaker on AI in education.
